Services
PREPARATION: Nothing to eat for 6 hours before the exam. You may drink water or black coffee without limitation, and take your regular medications. No sparkling or carbonated water and no soda. No gum, mints or candy - they put air in the stomach and can hide the gallbladder. Wear a two-piece outfit.
PREPARATION: Nothing to eat for 6 hours before the exam. You may drink water or black coffee without limitation, and take your regular medications. No sparkling or carbonated water and no soda. No gum, mints or candy. A gallbladder that has not been fasted is contracted and cannot be evaluated reliably.
PREPARATION: Drink 20 oz of water one hour before your appointment and do not empty your bladder - a full bladder is required. No fasting needed. If you arrive uncomfortably full, tell us; you can empty partially and we will still get the images.

PREPARATION: No preparation. Please avoid necklaces, turtlenecks and high collars - the neck must be exposed. You will lie on your back with a pillow under the shoulders.
PREPARATION: No preparation. Wear or bring loose clothing. The exam takes about 20 minutes and is performed with a towel drape. Sudden severe testicular pain is an emergency - go to an emergency room instead of booking.
PREPARATION: No preparation. Wear loose clothing that exposes the joint being examined - shorts for knee or ankle, sleeveless or loose sleeves for shoulder or elbow.
PREPARATION: No preparation. Please be able to point to exactly where the lump or pain is. Wear clothing that gives easy access to the area.
PREPARATION: Use a self-administered Fleet enema 1-2 hours before the appointment so the rectum is empty; this is what most affects image quality. No fasting required. Empty your bladder just before the exam. The study takes about 15-20 minutes. Tell us when you book if you have had recent rectal surgery, an anal fissure, active hemorrhoid pain or a colostomy - a transabdominal prostate study is an alternative.
PREPARATION: Drink 20 oz of water one hour before your appointment and do not empty your bladder. A full bladder pushes the bowel out of the way and is required for this exam. If you arrive uncomfortably full, tell us; you can empty partially and we will still get the images.
PREPARATION: Empty your bladder immediately before the exam - the opposite of the transabdominal study. No other preparation. The probe is covered and lubricated; the exam takes about 15 minutes.
PREPARATION: Drink 20 oz of water one hour before your appointment and do not empty your bladder, in case the study is done through the abdomen. If a transvaginal approach is needed you will be asked to empty your bladder first. No fasting needed.
PREPARATION: No preparation. Avoid necklaces and turtleneck or high-collar shirts. You will lie flat with the neck exposed for about 25 minutes.
PREPARATION: No preparation. Wear shorts or loose pants that can be rolled above the knee. Remove compression stockings before the exam.
